This is a workshop for Teens 13-18 who have an interest or some experience writing music or lyrics or poems.

By the end of the two days, you will walk away with one verse and one hook ready to build on and finish on their own. You will not get a produced song or audio file but you can record what you work on in class.

This is a  hands-on experience with rapping into a live mic on stage, we'll offer a chance to have our videographer take a :30 video clip of you performing for their portfolio or to show friends, socials, etc.

We'll also listen to music to get a deeper understanding of how Hip Hop music is created and performed.

Join us for a night learning about parenting gender diverse children in a relaxed environment. This is a great workshop for parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and anyone who has a child in their life who has expressed wanting to change the way they are identified and may have some questions or would like to hear insight from those who have experienced the same emotions. This is a theater  format of hearing from professionals in a casual and supportive setting.

Parenting can feel overwhelming and lonely at times. It can be difficult to find others who have similar life journeys.

Spend an evening with us as we hear from 3 different presenters on their personal journey of understanding their own gender, watching their child become themselves and tools for creating a healthy and affirming home environment.

DADDING VALUE - a Parenting Workshop for Dad's

Being a dad is super cool...and super challenging. Join SV Recreation for a casual, pressure-free class for local dads led by a local dad.

Hey, Scotts Valley Dads! Come join Coach Chris and other local dads to explore the many rewards and challenges of being a dad. Whether you're a rookie dad or a seasoned veteran, this two-night class is a chance to listen, share, and take away some tips and tools you can try out at home.

No dad has all the answers, so let's approach this Recreation style - in a fun, safe environment led by a fellow dad who also happens to be a Life Coach, high school teacher, fitness instructor, Little League coach, and World Series champion.

Brewing Workshop Series

Three weeks of weekly lectures and tasting on three types of Hops. Famous brewmasters will be at our theater spelling out what makes the hops you like stand out from the others you also like.

Three Wednesdays in October/November in the evening.

This is a Makers dream - come to the theater and watch demos on stage work their magic. Textiles, fabrics, dyeing, printmakers - we'll have some pros show you how they do it and some tips and tricks to take home.

We are going to hear from a Shakespeare professor and then transition to a director breaking down text in a scene with actors on stage. This is going to be a night the Bard would be super stoked to join in on!

Details coming in the Fall.
