Commissions & Boards

Recreation has three Advisory Boards as part of the division:

The Scotts Valley Arts Commission is established to advise the City Council on matters concerning the arts, including literature, music, and other cultural activities or arts-related matters as may be directed by the City Council.

The Scotts Valley Parks and Recreation Commission is established for the purpose of advising the City Council on matters concerning City parks, open space, recreation, arts, cultural activities and/or other park and recreation services, or such other duties as may be directed from time to time, by the City Council.

The specific and primary purposes of the Senior Organization are to advise the City Council on issues affecting the senior population of the City and to provide an opportunity to persons 50 years of age or older to pursue their interests in educational, recreational, and craft activities and to promote the welfare of the senior citizenry of the City.
